Baron Haussmann’s redesigned Paris emerged in the mid 1800’s with the broad avenues and dramatic vistas we see today. By 1871 there was a feeling of artistic renewal in the city, the perfect canvas for the impressionists to paint the cafes, monuments, boulevards and wide open spaces.
